## What is Unrepeat?

Unrepeat is a gratitude journal app for iPhone. Every day you write down exactly three things you are grateful for, and none of them may repeat an earlier entry, not even in different words. The app is built on the "three good things" exercise from positive psychology.

## What makes it different from other gratitude apps?

Most gratitude journals let you write the same thing every day. After a few weeks the entries read "coffee, family, health", and the exercise turns into a chore. Unrepeat compares every new entry with everything you have ever written, by meaning rather than by words. If an entry is too close to an earlier one, the app points to the earlier entry and asks you to find something new. That keeps you looking for the small, specific good things in an ordinary day.

## How does the repetition check work?

Each entry is converted into a text embedding (a list of numbers that captures its meaning) by a Google language model. A similarity search then compares it with your earlier entries and with the other two entries of the same day. The check is language-independent, so it also works when you mix languages. Strictness can be set to relaxed, medium or strict.

When an entry is blocked, a short AI-written nudge stays on the topic and helps you find what was different about today. The nudge is never stored.
